Waste Heat Recovery Power Generation System(Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao - The Philippines)
PSC Waste Heat Recovery Power Generation Project
The main purpose of this project was to install a new Waste Heat Recovery Power Generation (WHRPG) plant which would effectively recover the heat from the waste gas produced by the coolers of Philippine Sinter Corporation’s (PSC) sintering plant thereby saving energy. The WHRPG plant has a power generation capacity of 18.5 MW and will certainly contribute to cut the factory’s sintering costs through the reduction of its electricity expenses.
JFE Engineering in this project was responsible for the design of the entire system and the supply of the boiler units, the turbine power generator, and the seawater cooling equipment as well as the installation of the units, and test operation SV, etc. JFE Civil Engineering & Construction Corp. oversaw the civil engineering and installation works on site.
This project is certified by the United Nations as a CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) project. Nominal reduced carbon dioxide is transferred to Japan and utilized by our group company, JFE Steel Corporation.
