Hybrid pontoon, steel pontoon
The JFE Hybrid Pontoon consists of a composite plate and steel members.
The plate thickness can be reduced by using high-strength composite plates. Steel pontoons are also available, where the outer wall consists of steel plates only.

Features of the construction method
- 1The plate thickness can be reduced and the weight can be reduced.
- 2It can be installed in shallow water depths.
- 3The inside of the box is completely watertight.
- 4The steel plate on the concrete-coated inner surface is resistant to corrosion.
Hybrid Pontoons (Overview of Construction Method)

Composite plates and steel shell walls are used
⇒ Thin wall
⇒ Light weight allows for a smaller draft
