    Purpose for the Share Acquisition

The JFE Engineering Group has identified contributing to society through the realization of a circular economy as a key pillar of its long-term vision.
Through this acquisition, in addition to the waste collection, sorting, incineration, and recycling operations the Group has developed to date, it will now be able to provide integrated waste treatment and related services across the entire waste management value chain, including final disposal.
This will enable the Group to make an even greater contribution to the realization of a circular society.

Through Tokan Corporation, JFE Engineering also plans to construct a new controlled final disposal site in Akita Prefecture, with operations scheduled to commence in FY2030. With a permitted landfill capacity of approximately 3.16 million m³, the facility is expected to become the largest final disposal site in Akita Prefecture.

In operating the facility, the Company will build upon the strong relationships of trust established with local communities over many years. Beyond managing the final disposal of waste under normal circumstances, we will also explore establishing a system capable of providing rapid support in the event of disasters.
The facility will serve as a regional hub supporting the safety and security of local residents' daily lives, while striving for harmonious coexistence with the local community.
Working together as one, JFE Engineering will continue contributing to the realization of a circular society by balancing sustainable growth with the reduction of environmental impact.
