JFE Engineering Corporation (President: Hajime Oshita; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter, "JFE Engineering"), together with its wholly-owned subsidiary JFE Project One Co., Ltd. *1 (President: Ryo Omori, Head Office: Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan; hereinafter, "JPO"), has been awarded a contract from MITSUI ELASTOMERS SINGAPORE PTE LTD (Head Office: Republic of Singapore; President: Toshio Nitta), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Osamu Hashimoto) for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a new high-performance elastomer TAFMERTM*2 plant on Jurong Island, Republic of Singapore. The plant, which will have an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons, is scheduled for completion in fiscal 2024.
JFE Engineering and JPO have extensive experience in EPC for chemical plants in the Republic of Singapore and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. In particular, JPO has built a strong track record of EPC projects for Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. including existing TAFMERTM plant in the Republic of Singapore. Competitive price and reliable execution plan backed by JPO's experience and JFE Engineering Group 's project execution capabilities have been highly rated by the client, leading to the award of this construction project.
The JFE Engineering Group will continue to serve the needs of customers and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by strengthening its EPC business in the field of chemical plant in Southeast Asia, a market that is expected to expand in the future.
