JFE Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter, "JFEEM"), the Malaysian local subsidiary of JFE Engineering Corporation (President: Hajime Oshita; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), has received an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) order from Toyochem Specialty Chemical Sdn. Bhd., a group company of Toyo Ink SC Holdings Co., Ltd (President: Satoru Takashima, Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) for the expansion of a laminating adhesive manufacturing plant in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Peninsular Malaysia.

The plant manufactures high-performance, environmentally friendly adhesives used in fields closely connected to daily life, such as packaging for retort pouch foods and medical applications. This expansion work will double the production ability, and the operation is scheduled to start on September 2023.

JFEEM has been constructing various kinds of industrial plants and factory buildings since the 1990s, including petroleum, chemical, gas, waste treatment, and water treatment plants, and has established a framework for providing one-stop services, from planning to EPC, according to the needs of customers in various fields. In addition, our Group's engineering and project execution capabilities in the chemical plant field in Malaysia and other parts of Southeast Asia up to now have been highly regarded overall, leading to the award of this construction contract.

Because of Malaysia's stable infrastructure, it is expected that international companies, including Japanese companies, will continue to develop and strengthen their manufacturing bases in the country. In addition to responding to the needs of such companies, our Company and JFEEM will continue efforts to achieve our SDGs and contribute to realizing a sustainable society.
