JFE Engineering Corporation
JFE Engineering Corporation (President and CEO: Hajime Oshita; Head office: Chiyoda, Tokyo) has completed construction of the CFB boiler power plant and handed over to Kushiro Power Station Co., Ltd. (President: Toshiya Kuroda; Head office: Kushiro, Hokkaido) .
The high-efficiency CFB*1 boiler is supplied by Valmet*2, a partner of JFE Engineering. With a gross output of 112,000kW, it is one of the largest CFB boiler power plants using biomass fuel in Japan.
This marks the fourth power plant using Valmet's CFB boiler in Japan that JFE Engineering has handed over.
Through the delivering of high-efficiency power generation facilities, JFE Engineering will continue to contribute toward realizing a resource-saving society.
- *1 Circulating Fluidized Bed, a type of fluidized bed process in which fuel is combusted while bed material is circulated. One of CFB's features is its ability to handle a wide variety of fuel types, and it has advantage for co-firing of multi fuels.
