JFE Engineering Corporation
Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH
Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH (hereinafter, SBG), a subsidiary of JFE Engineering Corporation (President and CEO: Hajime Oshita, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), has received an order for one of the largest waste-to-energy (WtE) power plant in the world, which will be located in Stapelfeld, Germany.
The order placed with SBG is a WtE power plant being planned by EEW Group, which is engaged in the waste treatment and energy supply businesses, mainly in Germany. The order includes the design and construction of the incinerator and boiler, which are the main equipment of the plant.
The plant will have a treatment capacity of 1,080 tons/day of wastes with one incinerator, and will supply 35 MW of electric power (equivalent to the power consumption of more than 60,000 general households), and will also supply heat for use in Approx. 25,000 households.
SBG has been involved in the design and construction of Approx. 120 WtE power plants to date. In addition to this proven track record, this order was also awarded based on a high evaluation of SBG's state-of-the-art boiler technology and large-sized WtE reference in Spremberg (max. 960t/day), Germany.
The JFE Engineering Group will continue to contribute to create a recycling society in the future by mobilizing the group's total capabilities to promote proposals for WtE power plants in countries throughout the world.
