Handover of the most modern Energy from Waste Boiler-Plant in Lithuania

Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH (hereinafter, SBG), a subsidiary of JFE Engineering Corporation (President and CEO: Hajime Oshita, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), handed over the most modern Energy from Waste (EfW) boiler plant in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The plant will have a capacity of maximum 800 tons/day of waste with one incinerator, and will supply electric power electric power to the national transmission 110 kV grid and district heat to the city of Kaunas.

In Lithuania, most municipal solid waste has been disposed of in landfills, but in recent years, there has been a growing interest in EfW plants because this technology is ecologically highly preferable and enables effective utilization of the waste heat generated when waste is incinerated.

The JFE Engineering Group will continue to contribute to create a recycling society in the future by mobilizing the group's total capabilities to promote proposals for EfW power plants in countries throughout the world.
