Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH (hereinafter, SBG), a subsidiary of JFE Engineering Corporation (President and CEO: Hajime Oshita, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has received an order for gas-fired boiler equipment at the Ruhr Refinery owned by BP in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
TAs part of a modernization project at this refinery, BP decided to renovate the boiler equipment to enable effective utilization of the byproduct gases generated in the oil refining process.
The prime contractor for this project is STEAG GmbH, a major electric power producer in Germany. In the project, SBG will design and construct four byproduct gas-fired boilers generating high temperature/high pressure steam, which will be used in the oil refinery.
SBG has constructed more than 100 boiler facilities, mainly in Europe. In addition to this proven track record, the company's proposal of a technology that realizes stable combustion of diverse byproduct gases was also highly evaluated, leading to this order.
In the future, the JFE Engineering Group will continue to supply the optimum technology for diversifying customer needs in countries around the world.
