These business meetings begin with our staff members sharing the issue of why we have to talk about the environment to start with rather than power plants or power generation. JFE Engineering’s philosophy is quite simple.

JFE Engineering’s philosophy is quite straightforward. It is based on the premise that manufacturing always produces waste. Therefore, when new energyis required the waste produced within the plant is considered first. If this is not enough, we then take into consideration additional fuels derived from waste produced outside the plant.

This is the way of thinking that is required today. Consequently, the biggest feature that JFE as a Waste to Energy Plant constructor offers is that its technologies are widely compatible with a vast range of fuels in addition to fossil fuels, municipal waste, sewage sludge, or biomass.

Kishu Paper, one of the companies which agreed with this philosophy, decided to introduce JFE’s CFB Boiler at its Kishu Plant in order to generate power by burning a blended fuel of biomass and coal.

Conventional boilers are often only suitable for fossil fuels such as high-grade charcoal, oil and gas. JFE’s CFB Boiler on the other hand, is capable of burning not only low-grade charcoal, biomass, sludge and sawdust, but a wide variety of fuels including industrial waste such as waste plastics and tyres. JFE’s CFB Boiler System can meet the needs of a resource recycling-based society.

JFE’s CFB boiler burns a blended fuel of biomass and coal. Given the high price level of crude oil and fossil fuels in general,JFE’s CFB Boiler offers the advantage of an even greater-than-expected reduction in fuel-related expenditure while simultaneously yielding the added value of reduced CO2 emissions through the utilization of biomass.
