Exhaust gas activated carbon adsorption systems

JFE Gas Clean DX

JFE Gas Clean DX system– compact dioxin removal system capable of reaching levels of 0.01 ng-TEQ/m3N
JFE Gas Clean DX, developed by JFE Engineering, is a new dioxin-removal system for exhaust gas. High-performance activated carbon was developed exclusively for the system. Packaged cartridges with a unique structure allowing the system to adsorb and remove dioxins and heavy metals to an extremely low levels.

Applications

Application Examples of applied equipment
1 For removal of dioxins contained in exhaust gases Waste incinerators, ash melting furnaces, electric furnaces for steelmaking, aluminum melting furnaces, copper refinery, and other general furnaces
2 For removal of mercury contained in exhaust gases Waste incinerators, ash melting furnaces, electric furnaces for steelmaking, aluminums melting furnaces and other general refineries
3 For removal of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) including Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) contained in exhaust gas Iron and steel making processes, such as coke ovens, and other chemical plants
4 For deodorization General facilities requiring measures against odors

Features

High performance

The JFE Gas Clean DX is capable of removing dioxins and mercury to concentrations of 0.01 ng-TEQ/m3N and 10 μg/m3N or less. This level of performance is difficult for activated carbon spray systems to achieve.
JFE’s system passes gas through a layer of granular activated carbon with outstanding adsorption performance.
The activated carbon used for JFE Gas Clean DX also has excellent ignition prevention performance and enables the system to process hot exhaust gas (up to about 200°C).

Downsizing

A cartridge with a unique structure ensures improved contact efficiency between activated carbon and exhaust gas. Consequently, the filled quantity of activated carbon is considerably reduced allowing unparalleled compact size. The JFE Gas Clean DX can be installed in about one-third of the space required for the installation of a moving bed type activated carbon adsorption system of the same class. The system can also be integrated with a bag filter or flexibly adapted to limited space.

Sinple&Easy

Exhaust gas passes through a fixed activated carbon cartridge and is cleaned. The JFE Gas Clean DX does not contain any drive units. For this reason, the system requires very little handling or maintenance in daily operation resulting in operational savings. The combined effect of activated carbon and a cartridge with outstanding heat radiation performance saves nitrogen gas needed in conventional activated carbon adsorption systems. The cartridges of activated carbon have service life of about one year.

Low cost

The JFE Gas Clean DX can be introduced and installed at a lower cost because of its compact design and fewer accessory units.
