Steel caissons, L-shaped caissons
(for land reclamation and partition of revetment)

Steel caissons are caissons with steel members for the outer walls and bulkheads and SRC or steel members for the bottom plate. They are excellent for mid-partition revetments where long-term corrosion protection is not required, in terms of economy and rapid construction.

Features of the construction method

  1. The small amount of concrete used means that the weight of the caisson can be reduced, making it lighter and longer.
  2. The amount of concrete work is small, shortening the fabrication work.

Pneumatic Caisson Method (Overview of Constructin Method)

In this method, a caisson is sunk into the ground or sea while excavating soil and sand from the bottom of the caisson, which is constructed on the ground when constructing a shaft or pier foundation.
(The caisson is excavated and discharged without groundwater infiltration by sending high-pressure air into the working chamber at the bottom of the caisson.)
