Monorails and new transportation systems
Monorails, which run on a single guideway and are medium-sized transportation vehicles, fall under the straddle-beam type, where the rail is under the vehicles, and the suspension type, where the rail is above the vehicles. Elevated structures are frequently used for monorails that weave through urban areas. There are also new small and medium-sized transportation systems in service which adopt different modes from conventional railways and monorails. JFE Engineering has proven achievement in manufacturing and constructing monorails and new transportation systems.
