JFE Engineering Corporation (President and CEO: Hajime Oshita, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has been awarded EPC contract related to turnkey construction of city gas supply facility by Ohgishima City Gas Supply Co., Ltd. (President: Toshiro Kume, Head office: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, hereafter "OCGS") .
OCGS was established in Oct. 2017 jointly by the three leading companies of TEPCO Fuel & Power Inc. (hereafter, "TEPCO FP"), JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation (hereafter, "JXTG"), and Osaka Gas. Co., Ltd. OCGS plans to construct a city gas production and supply facility in the Ohgishima district of Kawasaki City and begin commercial operation in Apr. 2020.
JFE Engineering will construct calorific value adjustment system (hereafter, "CVAS") to produce city gas mixing with natural gas and liquified petroleum gas (hereafter "LPG"), LPG pipeline system connecting the JXTG gas terminal with CVAS to supply LPG and gas pipeline system to supply the city gas produced by CVAS to the existing city gas network. These facilities will enable OCGS to operate a business to produce and supply city gas using natural gas supplied from TEPCO FP's LNG Terminal located next to the construction area.
The facilities have adopted the newly-developed liquid-gas type calorific value adjustment, the Atomization Mixing System, "AtoMS".* The conventional technology required installation of two devices, one is intended for small gas flow and the other is for large, in a calorific value adjustment system to address wide range of gas flow fluctuation.
AtoMS has a capability to handle large turndown ration (maximum operating flow rate/maximum operating flow rate), which is enable to accommodate wide range of gas fluctuation in one device, resulting in operation flexibility and smaller facility area.
JFE Engineering has delivered a large amount of lot of city gas and natural gas-related facilities to electricity and oil & gas industries. We will continue to support customer energy demand today and in future based on our rich experience and technological capabilities.
