Xiaojianxi MSW Incineration Plant in Qingdao

Stoker furnace constructed in Qingdao, China

This was the first waste to energy project awarded to JFE in China. JFE won an international competition held by the Shanghai Environment Group. A formal contract was signed in January 2009.
The facility operates three furnaces each with a capacity of 500 tons per day. JFE Engineering is responsible for the delivery of major equipment for the stoker type furnaces, basic design, test operation, exhaust heat recovery boilers, exhaust gas treatment equipment, and other balance of plant.
In China, landfill is the mainstream of MSW disposal, and problems such as the pollution of the surrounding environment and the shortage of final disposal sites are becoming increasingly serious. Construction of 20 or more MSW incineration plants each year is planned.
JFE also was awarded for the construction of MSW incineration plant with a capacity of 800 tons/day (400 tons x 2 lines) in the city of Shanghai in November 2010.JFE will continue to support the growing need for safe waste treatment with our wide range of offers and diverse portfolio of waste to energy systems.
