center is located in Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama
and builds on JFE’s core mechanical
design and production technologies to
design and fabricate heavy equipment
for the environment, water treatment,
transportation, construction and shipping
industries. Our
main products include:
1. Cranes, including container cranes
for port facilities
2. Belt conveyor systems used to transport
gravel and other materials
3. Shield tunneling machines used
to dig subway and utility trench tunnels
4. Medium-speed diesel ship engines
(design and fabrication)
5. Boilers and turbines for waste
disposal plants
6. Large-diameter plate-rolled pipes
for water supply and intake systems
The machinery center
has a long track record in research
and development. Recent development
projects include vibration-proof container
cranes that have a built-in vibration-absorbing
structure, high-efficiency automated
cranes, and shield tunneling machines
for long-distance and high-speed tunneling.
In diesel engines, our environment-friendly,
low-NOx models enjoy a reputation
for reliability and efficiency, particularly
in the high-output, medium-speed engine
market. JFE diesel engines are at
work in many of the ferries and ships
that ply Japanese waters, and we continue
to serve the needs of this market.
The Machinery Center
is the headquarters for JFE Engineering’s
machinery production. Its tradition
of manufacturing and craftsmanship
helps to build a richer and more enjoyable
society.
